Update on the State of the company

On September the 14th, SCO filed voluntary petition for relief under chapter 11 of the United States Bankruptcy Code. We took the extraordinary step of filing for Chapter 11 protection in U.S. Bankruptcy Court to protect assets for our creditors and stockholders and to ensure the continuation of our normal business operations. Part of this process we also take actions to re-organize the business in the best interest of our valuable UNIX partners and customers.

On October 22, 2007, the Company entered into an agreement whereby a purchaser intends to acquire substantially all assets used by the Company in connection with its SCO UNIX Business and certain related claims in litigation, and to provide financing to the Company, pursuant to Section 363 and 364 of the Bankruptcy Code. Meanwhile the business for our partners and customers continues as normal. Our Engineering team continues to deliver products, including updates to OpenServer 6 and SCO HipCheck (as outlined further down below in this Newsletter).  Our channel continues to provide excellent service and products that you've become accustomed to for many years. Please have in mind, that we currently work on a solution that is in the best interest of our business partners.
Don't hesitate to get in touch with us, if you have any further questions.

Darl Mc Bride, CEO of the SCO Group has recently sent a letter to many of our partners and customers:

Darl's Letter to SCO Customers and Partners

"First, let me thank you for your loyalty and dedication to SCO. It has been almost one month since The SCO Group, Inc. and its wholly-owned subsidiary, SCO Operations, Inc. filed voluntary petitions for relief under chapter 11 of the United States Bankruptcy Code in the United States Bankruptcy Court, District of Delaware, on
September 14th 2007. The Board of Directors of The SCO Group unanimously determined at that time that Chapter 11 reorganization was in the best long-term interest of SCO and its subsidiaries, as well as its customers, shareholders, and employees. ..."  Read the complete letter here.

Maintenance Pack 3 for OpenServer 6

With SCO OpenServer™ Release 6.0.0 Maintenance Pack 3 (MP3), SCO is releasing a major update to it's latest OpenServer offering. As always with MP's, this update is free of charge for our customers and can be downloaded shortly from the Support Download Webpage.
The MP includes new features, updated components and bug fixes. MP3 enhances again the compatibility between OpenServer 5 and OpenServer 6. Both releases are binary compatible and your OpenServer 5 applications just run on OpenServer 6.
Issues that have been found in regard to this compatibility, have been fixed in MP3.

MP3 should be applied at your next maintenance period. More information is available here.

For more details on Upgrading from OpenServer 5 to OpenServer 6 check out the Upgrade Guide here.

If you are interested in the advantages of upgrading from OpenServer 5 to OpenServer 6 instead of migrating to other platforms, read the Whitepaper here.
