6 - Progress OpenEdge 10 certified |
The current version
of Progress - OpenEdge 10 - is now certified for Openserver 6 ! This is
another real life example for the new "Single Certification" Feature
built in into OpenServer 6. You can run OpenServer 5, Xenix , Java and
also UnixWare applications on OpenServer 6 ! This allows software
vendors like Progress to write an application for e.g. the UnixWare
platform and certify and support the very same binary on OpenServer 6
as well !

We have published an OpenServer 6 Upgrade Guide to our website. This Guide is of special interest to our OpenServer 5 customers. It covers a lot of interesting details that you should be aware of if you plan to migrate from OpenServer 5 to the new OpenServer 6 Release.

OpenServer
6 - new Skunkware Software Packages
|
Part of the
SCO Skunkware Project we have just provided a version of the popular Eclipse Development Framework for
OpenServer 6. More informations about Eclipse can be found at
www.eclipse.org.
If you like to test the Eclipse software on OpenServer 6, you first
need to install the Cairo and
the Ant
Software package from Skunkware as well. Please note that Skunkware
packages are not supported by SCO but you can
provide feedback in english language to skunkware@sco.com.
Another package we have recently provided is xcdroast. This tool is a graphical
frontend for the CDR tools
(CD/DVD burning) that we ship with OpenServer 6.
The SCO Skunkware project
The SCO Skunkware project provides compiled and packaged versions of
popular software projects on SCO platforms
since many years. SCO has just recently uploaded "Skunkware" software
for OpenServer 6. Please note, that these
software packages are not supported by SCO but provided for your
benefit. Other major software packages like
Samba, perl, KDE and others are delivered as part of OpenServer 6 and
are fully supported from SCO.
