High performance mobile applications are the future of IT development. The SCO Group has introduced the SCO Mobile Server to resolve the unique challenges of developing and deploying secure mobile applications.

Server - main purpose
The SCO
Mobile Server provides a deployable hosting environment for custom
mobility
applications. Development support for
such applications is provided by SCO ATG and is
enabled by a
set of programming libraries that can be made available under special
arrangements from SCO.

Each SCO Mobile Server will include support for
the following:
- Manage a list of Accounts
- Manage a list of Subscribers in an Account
- Manage Groups of Subscribers in an Account
- Add an account
- Authenticate an application from a mobile phone based on subscriber credentials
- Support connections via http or https
- Initiate an SMS alert to a subscriber or group
- Initiate an email to subscribers or groups through an
SMTP gateway
- Allow a third party application to be installed and configured
- Upon request SCO will reserve an application identifier
for a developer to register an application so it can be deployed in the
SCO Mobile framework alongside other applications without conflict.
- Secure
communication methods are provided for external connections
The software (Media Kit) and System licenses can be ordered from any authorized SCO Distribution Partner. In addition, the software can be downloaded from the SCO Support Download Page. The product is available for the following platforms:
- SCO OpenServer 6.0, with MP2
- UnixWare
7.1.4, with MP3
- Windows Server 2003 R2

With the SCO Mobile server you can:

- enable business transactions from anywhere at anytime
Each SCO Mobile Server is licensed for a fixed number of mobile subscribers. The limit is controlled by a license key that is entered through the server’s administrative web pages or during the install process. The initial license key is requested during installation and provides for access for 10 users. Additional users can be permitted by adding licenses.
Each SCO Mobile Server comes with a license for twelve months of software maintenance.
